How do I change my picture?

Now that we have a new jazzy theme that speaks to me more of leisure and enjoyment than corporate greyness...I have made some new Reality 2.0 logos (R2) that you can use as your picture/avatar if you don't have a picture of your own that you want to use, but it will get rid of the horrid little grey men - yes there are still a few wandering about..!!

If you already have the R2 logo, but would prefer to use one of the new ones instead (they are designed to complement the blue theme more than the original dark red and grey logos), here is how to do it:

Go to the Logo Gallery and click on the logo you would like to use. When it opens full size, right click on it and save it to your computer.

This is a screenshot of how to upload your personal avatar. On the right of each page there should be a little box saying Hello XXX and underneath that: My Friends and My Settings. Click on my settings and this screen should appear.

Click where shown by the arrow and you will then be able to upload an image from your computer to use as an avatar (personal photo).

Photo tip 1: The software resizes your main photo to a square 206 x 206 pixels. Therefore, it is better if the photo you upload is actually bigger than that, otherwise a smaller photo is stretched or enlarged and looks rough.

The R2 logos have all been suitably sized, but if you want to use your own pictures, be aware that if they are not square, the network will cut off the top and bottom of your pic, which may look rather strange.

This also applies to the main group photos when you create a new group. These are resized to a 171x171 pixel square so must be at least that size and square.
